March Quarterly 2014

At the center of your being, you have the answer; you know who you are, and you know what you want.

So, isn’t that nice to know? Yes, we really do have all the answers and whatever you believe in or what you may call a power or Spirit, there is a connection to the Source that awaits our questions.

Just imagine it could be that simple. Here is this wonderful inner power that has the answers….all the answers to your questions. It wants to be your ally. Well, you may be saying to yourself,” then why don’t I know what I want and where I am going? What is my purpose? Who is the right relationship for me?” and on and on. All of these are extremely valid. Whichever aspect or phase of your life are you in? Are you taking the time to listen?

There is a space of quiet that most of us yearn for. Not easy to find, but much easier then we realize. You have probably heard the old saying, “we are beings not doings”.

When we create the new habit of giving ourselves moments during the day, some people find that in the very beginning of the day before it starts running is a great time to sit and begin to get more and more in touch with their “inner genie,” their “inner wise woman/man” the golden cord that is their connection to the power source. It is just waiting to be the “co-pilot.” Once you give it a chance, a tremendous partnership begins (especially in these challenging times of weather everywhere).

I am not speaking in religious or new age words or ideas. When you begin to get in touch with the “lode stone” the answers can take many forms… art, writing and just an inner feeling or even voice. There are so many ways that the communication and wisdom can take form or a sense of something.

This is one of the reasons that I am continue to study what I love. Communication with our individual and unique minds, spirits, emotions and body comes through in as many abilities and talents as you can imagine.

Go ahead. Tomorrow, now or later, be intentional about taking a real, gentle break in your day. If you are new to this or a little out of practice, just start to shake hands with this inner energy. Let it know that you would like to get to know it. Start small and every day, or what time feels best and workable, ask this inner guidance system a question, “what should I call you?”

When you start feeling stronger about this new relationship, bring a pencil and some paper along. Keep in mind, if you already are connected with some form of art…art-collage, free sketching, free flow writing (no judging allowed), molding with some putty while you are waiting for an answer(s), this is great. Don’t get up and begin cooking a gourmet meal right away… that may happen later as you and your inner power are really communicating.

Take your time and move forward, sideways, in tiny steps at first. Give yourself time, but please move.

There is no passion to be found playing small- -in settling for a life that is
less than the one you are capable of living.
Nelson Mandela
